Wagenteile has developed out of the love for (some say: obsession with) a special kind of car: the air-cooled Volkswagen. Since his early youth Cord Redlin has been fascinated with these vehicles, and his first car in 1984 was, of course, a beetle. He worked on it himself and soon shared a backyard garage with 5 friends. Used parts were obtained from junkyards, wearing parts from independent parts dealers, and everything else from the VW dealer. Accordingly, it often took the whole day to get all parts for a repair (if you were lucky). This situation inspired the original idea for Wagenteile, formerly Volksteile, a store where you can buy everything in the same place and from the same person: used parts, supplier, and original parts, at affordable prices and in addition to the necessary know-how.

After many happy years of tinkering with more-or-less rewarding objects of the species air-cooled VW, as well as qualified training as a car mechanic (at the VW transporter plant), Cord Redlin opened Wagenteile in May 1992, at that time still under the name of Volksteile.

Since then the supply has steadily increased, and today we have in stock almost all wearing parts for Volkswagens with rear engines. In addition, Wagenteile offers many parts that VW dealers and general parts suppliers haven't been able to deliver for years. We can also procure special and rare parts for you.

In 1998 Jörg Lottermoser joined Wagenteile. He also has long years of experience and is our specialist for T2/T3 busses. Together with him we expanded our supply for vans of the third generation (T3), model years '80-'92, and included it into our existing program.

In 1999 we moved to Springe-Eldagsen. The new store was opened and at the same time we celebrated the seventh year of our existence.

In 2002 Gerrit Wohlrab, a long-term friend of the company, joined Wagenteile. For years he's been tinkering on his 1966 standard beetle.

All employees of Wagenteile have driven and repaired rear-engine VWs for years (even our webmaster is seasoned Type 3-tinkerer: many thanks to Axel Werner for these pages; and the translator is also a former beetle-owner), so that you will always get competent advice.
